Overview
We are a lore-friendly role-playing guild operating within the vast world of Guild Wars 2. Dedicated to the game's unfolding and evolving story, we closely follow the events of each expansion as well as the unfolding Living World. Using our established business connections throughout Central Tyria, Elona, Cantha and beyond, we are always seeking to expand our business, develop new products and ideas, and overcome the challenges that the game's story and our own stories send our way.By trade, we grow and sell our own brands of Charr-Nip, Mehkuunah and coffee within a verdant oasis we call home, deep within the northern fringes of the Domain of Vabbi. There, we have built a resplendant resort that caters to the richest of tastes, as well as an expansive trading depot and aerodrome where we can deploy our traders to any corner of the world. If there is some place in Tyria we do not do business in, it's only because we haven't gotten there yet.
THE FLAMING CATS TRADING COMPANYWhile our main structure as a group is that of a trading company, the focus of our (mis)adventures rarely revolves around day-to-day corporate affairs. Instead, we aim to promote personal character growth by encouraging our members to try their hands at telling their character's stories, allowing members the freedom to run guild sessions of their own with varying levels of assistance and support from the guild's leadership. Between such member-oriented story arcs, dedicated guild storytellers and officers coordinate to weave grand tales of adventure and intrigue, with varying plots to keep the guild's overarching story fresh and unique.So how do we do this?
The Flaming Cats Trading Company gathers on Wednesdays and Sundays, starting at 8 pm EST/EDT for formal story sessions. Session hosts present their stories to the characters present with as much or as little assistance as required from the guild officers, who maintain a constant presence during these sessions.As a guild, we encourage unique and engaging story telling. We strive to respect established lore, but never back down from opportunities to explore lore gaps or expand upon existing lore content. Throughout our adventures, we have explored old ruins where ancient creatures locked away from before the Searing lurked, we have allied with Canthan creatures from the Spirit Realm to thwart criminal plots in the streets of Kaineng, we have hobnobbed with the rich and powerful in Divinity's Reach, we have hosted dignitaries from around the world at our lavish resort, we have braved unexplored regions to locate forgotten ingredients in order to create new recipes, and we have braved the war-torn fronts to deliver supplies to soldiers fighting the myriad threats that endanger Tyria every day.Every one of our stories is only as incredible as the next one to come.So how did we get here?
Long before the Flaming Cats were a household name, we were a Legion Warband made up of Charr outcasts and gladia placed under the oppressive control of a secret Ash Legion operating. After breaking ties with the High Legions and moving from Ascalon to the sandy depths of the Domain of Vabbi, we've established ourselves as a successful business venture, morphing organically from the soldiers we once were to the cuthroat business operators we have become. Along the way, we have recruited the best of the best from all origins and walks of life, bringing into our business myriad opinions, backgrounds and cultures to find strength in diversity.And we are always seeking new adventurous spirits to join our family, with recruitment open to all people of Tyria, Elona, Cantha and anywhere you may be from. TRADE
Having an established presence in every major settlement throughout Central Tyria and Elona, while operating our own naval vessels, airships and ground caravans, our company is able to obtain and deliver goods anywhere in the nkown world.Additionally, we maintain our own market near our corporate headquarters, offering artisans, merchants and traders of all types a safe and secure environment in which to sell their wares.And of course, we wouldn't be the success we are today without our signature product: the best Charr-Nip gold can buy.We are currently recruiting for all positions in our Trade Division, including airship engineers, trained merchants and negotiators, agriculture specialists and craftspeople of all types.
STUDY AND RESEARCH
Whether its developing state-of-the-art weapons, improving existing dry goods, or developing a new crop to harvest and sell, our team of Priory researcher, Olmakhan herbalists and outstanding alchemists can crack any mystery and develop any product the market could demand. Unconventional and daring, there is no project too dangerous or extreme for our team to handle.Our research team is available to assist with product testing and product development of any kind.We are currently recruiting for all positions in our R&D Division to address research in all fields, including magical research, mechanical engineering, weapon design, horticulture and any field deemed profitable and viable.
REST AND RELAXATION
Nestled within the sunny dunes and mountains near the borders of Vabbi, we've built a stunning luxury resort where discerning customers can enjoy world-class food, drink and entertainment from around the world. Long forgotten to conflict and war, the land we call home falls outside any established jurisdiction or royal rule, creating the perfect environment for traders and merchants to come practice their trade, without the pesky fees and regulations cities like Amnoon or Lion's Arch may impose.Our Operations Division is also charged with all maintenance and improvements to our headquarters and guild hall, and handles all employee and staff related matters.We are currently recruiting for all positions in our Operations Division, including cooks, bartenders, entertainers, therapeutic specialists, and maintenance and construction workers or specialists.
SAFETY AND SECURITY
Ensuring the safety and security of our goods and our guests is a top priority. Our security team is highly trained and outfitted with the best equipment available on the market. Tasked primarily with protecting our resort as well as our staff when out on the field, our security team also engages in military operations, including bounty hunts and assistance with certain Pact missions should the need arise.We are currently recruiting for all positions in our Security Division, including anyone with military, bounty hunting or general security experience.
